The International School Award 2017 wrapped up on 20 October with introducing the winners in different sections.

The award ceremony was attended by UNOOSA Director Simonetta Di Pippo, Peace and Cooperation founder Joaquín Antuña, Ambassador Gonzalo de Salazar of the Spanish Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Vienna.

Iranian students competed with students from Hong Kong, China, Hungary, Turkey, Spain, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Latvia, Philippines, Mexico, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Morocco and Saudi Arabia and finished as the winner in painting, poster and teamwork sections of the event called ‘Looking at the Stars: The Future of the World’.

 

The award was received by Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Reza Najafi on behalf of Iranian winners.

 

Joaquín Antuña, while introducing the theme of the Peace and Cooperation School Award 2018 as “Galaxy of Peace. The Space, World Heritage”, welcomed participation of Iranian students and expressed hope for their success.

The 2016 award was also granted to an Iranian student from Kermanshah, a city located in far west of the country.
